Planning Commission

The Pierce County Planning Commission is an advisory board to the Pierce County Council regarding legislative actions dealing with planning and land use. Hearings before the Planning Commission are typically in regard to planning related legislation such as zoning code changes, comprehensive plan amendments, and other land use regulations. The Planning Commission also makes recommendations regarding applications for current use assessment.


Meetings

All Commission meetings will be held in-person at the Pierce County Annex and remotely via Zoom. Please see Upcoming Meeting Materials below to view the upcoming agenda for meeting information one week prior.

The Planning Commission (PC) typically meets at 9:30 a.m. on the fourth Tuesday of every month (agenda topic dependent). As needed, the PC will also hold special meetings. The meetings are held at the Pierce County Public Services Building (Annex), 2401 South 35th Street, Tacoma, unless otherwise noted. Meetings are noticed in the News Tribune typically two weeks prior or at minimum 10 days prior to the meeting. Agenda and associated meeting materials are posted to the website one week prior to the meeting.
